Launch Paths
There are two pathways to launch a BioAgent on the Bio Protocol, designed to accommodate both technical and non-technical creators.
Path 1: Bring Your Own Code (Developer-Focused)
This pathway is for developers and teams who have the technical expertise to build and deploy their own custom BioAgent. If you have your own code, architecture, and a clear plan for your agent's function, this is the path for you.
Please note, this path comes with a higher degree of responsibility:
A2A Compatibility: Your agent's code must be A2A (Agent-to-Agent) compatible to ensure it can interact with the broader Bio Protocol ecosystem.
Infrastructure: You will be responsible for hosting and maintaining your agent's infrastructure and ensuring it remains reliable.
Technical Autonomy: The Bio.xyz team will be largely hands-off from a technical standpoint. We provide the launchpad, you provide the tech.
Path 2: Use a Bio-Generated Template (For Researchers)
This pathway is designed for scientists, domain experts, and researchers who want to launch an agent without needing to code. With this option, you provide the scientific expertise, and we provide the technical framework.
The process involves curating the core knowledge of your agent:
Provide Your Credentials: Share your scientific background and area of expertise.
Curate Manuscripts: You will be responsible for carefully selecting and submitting a list of scientific manuscripts. Your work as a researcher is critical here; a well-curated set of manuscripts gives the agent a solid foundational background and ensures its expertise is grounded in high-quality science. We recommend that you curate somewhere between 500 and 5,000 manuscripts for your agent.
We Build the Agent: Give us the PDFs of these manuscripts in a google drive folder and the Bio.xyz team will process these manuscripts to create a Knowledge Graph (KG) for you. This KG serves as the agent's core memory, a technique we use to dramatically reduce AI hallucinations and ensure the agent's responses are accurate and context-aware. From there, we build and deploy the agent for you.
Questions?
Regardless of which path you choose, our team is more than happy to answer your questions and coordinate with you. For developers looking for inspiration, our Open Access BioAgents Repo may also be a helpful resource.
