# Bridge BIO

To participate in launches on the Bio Protocol, your `BIO` tokens must be on the **Base** network. If you hold `BIO` on another network, such as Ethereum Mainnet, you will need to use a cross-chain bridge to transfer them, or acquire `BIO` on Base.

This guide provides a step-by-step overview of how to use the official Bio Bridge. While this guide focuses on bridging `BIO`, the Bio Bridge can be used to transfer a wide variety of tokens from across the Bio ecosystem. The process is the same for any supported asset.

### Step-by-Step Bridging Guide

1. **Go to the Official Bridge:** Navigate to the official Bio Bridge at [**bridge.bio.xyz**](https://bridge.bio.xyz/). This is the recommended and most secure way to transfer your tokens.
2. **Select Chains and Connect Wallet:**
   * Set the **Source Chain** to where your `BIO` currently is (e.g., Ethereum).
   * If using the Launchpad, set the **Target Chain** to **Base**.
   * Connect the wallet that holds your `BIO`.
3. **Select Token and Amount:**
   * Select `BIO` as the token you want to bridge.
   * Enter the amount you wish to transfer.
   * Connect your source wallet.
   * Proceed to the next step.
4. **Approve and Confirm Transfer:**
   * The bridge will likely ask you to review your transaction.
   * After approval, you will need to confirm the final transfer transaction.
   * Follow the on-screen instructions carefully. The bridging process can take several minutes.
5. **Receive Tokens on Base:**
   * Once the transaction is confirmed on both chains, the equivalent amount of `$BIO` will be available in your wallet on the Base network. You may need to switch your wallet's network to Base to see the tokens.

**Important:** Always save the transaction hash (tx) provided by the bridge. If something goes wrong, this hash is critical for recovery and support.
